Not the traditional kind of marketer.

CP · ’26

Entrepreneur, marketing consultant, and Christian creative in Greater Indianapolis — building marketing products that actually help small businesses. I chose a college-alternative route through Vertical Immersive because the fastest way to get where I'm going was to actually start going.

I think differently by design. I'm drawn to bold ideas, contrarian strategy, and creative thinking that makes people question why no one tried it sooner. I don't move slow. I don't wait for permission. And I don't believe in safe marketing — because safe marketing doesn't change anything.

My faith shapes how I lead. Real influence is built on integrity. People matter more than metrics. The best leaders make the people around them better. That's the kind of marketer — and person — I'm building myself to be.

What I'm chasing isn't just a career. It's a seat at the table where bold decisions get made. Where creative strategy shapes culture. Where the work actually means something.

Notes from the front of the line.

When everyone looks professional, professional stops standing out.

AI can generate a logo in ten seconds. It can write captions, build websites, invent "brand guides" instantly. So branding in 2026 isn't design — it's identity. It's what people assume about you before they ever meet you. AI can generate content. It can't generate conviction. It can't generate a story. It can't generate presence. In a world where everything is automated, the brands that win will be the ones that still feel human.

The generation that grew up with AI has a problem.

Most of them can't think without it. I'm in that generation — and I refuse to be the cautionary tale. Train the mind first. Study the masters. Stay creatively active. Then use AI to multiply all of it.

Read

Big vision without structure turns into burnout.

Ambition without balance turns into chaos. Speed without roots eventually snaps. I'm taking the long view from the start — laying bricks quietly, consistently, while the pressure is still manageable.

Read

Hope, I learned, is not abstract. It's taught.

A week in Belize with the Vertical Immersive cohort. What stayed with me wasn't a framework — it was hope. Dreams don't vanish; they wait patiently to be seen again.

Read

I'm not waiting my turn to speak up.

Modern markets move fast. Really fast. Sometimes the only people who can keep up are the young, scrappy, slightly-too-caffeinated ones who've been living in it from day one. I'd rather spend my career proving fresh perspective has value than waiting for someone to hand me a microphone.

Read

Greatness doesn't come from studying harder.

The next generation won't win by memorizing frameworks — they'll win by thinking strategically and creatively when the framework breaks. That's why I chose a different path.

Raw ability is overrated; discipline, character, and relationships are what actually compound. Maxwell’s “talent-plus” choices are exactly the bricks I’m trying to lay quietly.

The customer is the hero, not the brand. Clarify the stakes, name the problem, and position yourself as the guide — the message is a pass-through, not a stage.

Note for Carson: placeholders. Drop in real quotes from clients, cohort leads, or mentors — a line from Brian Wheeler, a testimonial from a Copperleaf client, a LinkedIn reaction. Three strong quotes beat ten lukewarm ones.
